About the Role
Join Marina Bay Sands and contribute to a security operations environment where you will support the team in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats. This role is designed for a full-time student whose internship also counts toward graduation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain dependable, regular attendance, as this is a core part of the role.
- Monitor security alerts, assess them promptly, and escalate confirmed or suspected threats without delay.
- Raise the alarm when cyber threat detection tools malfunction or produce failures.
- Work in line with CSOC analyst runbooks and established operating procedures.
- Compile CSOC metrics and trend reports, including the overall health status of security monitoring tools and systems.
- Follow IT compliance obligations and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders and follow up until cases are resolved where needed.
- Support investigations into security incidents, violations, and breaches.
- Stay current on vulnerabilities, mitigation approaches, and response methods relevant to cyber security operations.
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
- Work rotating weekend shifts as required.
- Review alerts generated by cyber security tools and act on them appropriately.
- Identify likely cyber incidents, triage them, and escalate them in a timely manner.
- Take initial containment or response actions when necessary.
- Track external cyber threat intelligence sources and monitor for possible threats.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time matriculated student.
- The internship must satisfy school graduation requirements.
- No prior experience is needed, as training will be provided.
- Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
- Be able to shift priorities quickly while still completing work within set timelines.
- Build cooperative working relationships with team members, managers, external contacts, guests, and the public.
- Stay calm under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with both internal and external stakeholders.
