Role overview
This is a full-time café management position based at Sainsburys Morecambe in Morecambe, England, United Kingdom. The employer is Compass Group UK & Ireland, and the site is part of One Retail.
You will be responsible for helping launch a brand-new café inside a busy retail setting. The opportunity is to shape the venue from the ground up, influence how it operates, and build a welcoming place that customers want to return to.
The café concept is centred around quality coffee, fresh pastries, and well-prepared food, with an emphasis on simple but memorable everyday experiences.
Pay and working pattern
The salary for this role is £31,000 per annum. The position follows a 5 out of 7-day working pattern and involves 40 hours per week.
Please note that the role is contracted to weeks per year.
Key responsibilities
As Café Manager, you will take ownership of the daily running of a newly opened site, making sure service remains efficient, organised, and consistent. You will also build the team, establish standards, and create the overall customer experience from the outset.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the café and keep service running smoothly.
- Recruit, train, and develop a capable team that delivers strong service.
- Maintain high standards in food quality, coffee preparation, and presentation.
- Handle stock control, operational routines, and performance management.
- Help create a relaxed, friendly, and inviting atmosphere for customers.
- Ensure consistency across all parts of the operation, including the small details.
- Keep health and safety standards in place at all times.
