JoinedUp by Beeline is a SaaS product that helps manage large-scale, shift-based workforces. This position is for a mid-level DevOps / Systems Engineer who enjoys working across core infrastructure and newer AI/ML tooling. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll help run and improve the AWS environment that supports the main platform as well as AI features built with services such as Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic Claude. The role is hands-on, offers ownership of meaningful work, and involves close collaboration with backend and data teams to productionize AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and continuously improve scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Deploy and support containerised workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Fargate.
• Develop automation utilities and scripts using Python and Bash.
• Design and refine CI/CD workflows for backend services and AI components with GitHub Actions.
• Operate AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock, including model calls, agents, knowledge bases, and guardrails.
• Work with Anthropic Claude models through Bedrock or direct API integration.
• Track reliability, performance, and spend across standard workloads and AI workloads using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and custom dashboards.
• Apply security, compliance, privacy, safety, and cost-control practices to AI and infrastructure operations.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, and take part in the on-call rota.
• Partner with other teams on platform improvements that enable AI-driven features like shift recommendations, chat assistants, and no-show prediction.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in DevOps or systems engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS core services including EC2, Fargate, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or a similar infrastructure-as-code tool.
• Comfort managing containers and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Ability to script in Python and Bash.
• Understanding of AI/ML operational topics such as latency, cost optimisation, model versioning, prompt fundamentals, and guardrails.
• Solid foundation in networking, security, and observability practices.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and a willingness to learn.
• Preferred experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or ArgoCD.
• Exposure to real-time or high-volume SaaS environments is helpful.
• Basic familiarity with data pipelines or event-driven systems such as EventBridge, SQS, or Kafka.
• Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock and/or Anthropic Claude is a plus.
