About the role

This position is for a QA/QC Engineer focused on mechanical and process systems for high-purity and ultra-high-purity piping in a large advanced manufacturing project. The work will be site-based in Dholera, Gujarat, and calls for practical experience in orbital welding, cleanroom execution, and process piping quality control.

Key responsibilities

  • Check and maintain quality standards for HP/UHP piping networks, including UPW, CDA, nitrogen, specialty gases, and chemical distribution lines.
  • Track fabrication, erection, and installation work for piping at the project site.
  • Carry out pre-fabrication inspections and confirm material traceability through MTCs, heat numbers, and ASTM compliance.
  • Supervise orbital welding activities, including welder/operator qualification, purging and back-purging controls, and weld review with proper records.
  • Examine and endorse documents such as ITPs, WPS/PQR, and welding logs.
  • Witness and verify hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, helium leak testing, and flushing/cleanliness verification.
  • Apply cleanroom discipline related to contamination control, safe material movement, and surface protection.
  • Raise, track, and close NCRs with proper root-cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Work with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Compile inspection reports, quality dashboards, and presentation material for management review.
  • Assist in commissioning support and final system handover activities.

Requirements

  • B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
  • 8 to 15 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical or process systems.
  • Practical exposure to HP/UHP piping systems used for UPW, gases, and chemicals.
  • Strong working knowledge of orbital welding and GTAW for SS 316L.
  • Understanding of purging methods and oxygen-control practices.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom construction and contamination-sensitive project work.
  • Familiarity with ASME, SEMI, and AWS standards.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and process layouts.
  • Good coordination, reporting, and documentation abilities.
