About the Organization
Export Development Canada (EDC) helps Canadian companies grow internationally by offering financial products and expert guidance that reduce risk, support expansion into new markets, and contribute to stronger trade outcomes for Canada and the world.
Role Overview
EDC is hiring a Procurement Advisor for a permanent position within its procurement function. The role supports sourcing, contracting, and procurement activities while protecting the integrity of the organization’s purchasing practices and maintaining strong ethical standards.
Compensation
This position is classified at Procurement 17, with an annual salary range of $84,698 to $112,931, depending on experience and qualifications. A performance-based incentive is also included.
Work Location
EDC follows a hybrid work model. At present, the role requires two days per week in the office, increasing to three days per week in September 2026, subject to change. The job may be based at EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or at a community hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, or Laval. Relocation support may be available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.
What You Will Do
You will handle requisitions and purchase orders, coordinate competitive procurement processes, and support contract administration across a variety of commodities and services. The role also involves advising internal stakeholders, maintaining accurate procurement records, and contributing to broader organizational initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, along with at least 5 years of relevant procurement experience. Of that experience, 3 years should include guiding formal competitive procurement processes. Strong knowledge of commercial and complex contracts, procurement best practices, and industry standards is required. Clear written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential, with bilingual ability in both official languages preferred.
Preferred Background
Candidates who are progressing toward CSCP or SCMA certification may stand out. Additional strengths include familiarity with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), federal procurement tools such as supply arrangements and standing offers, and systems including PSPC, SSC, P2P, Agiloft, and PeopleSoft Financials.
Eligibility and Screening
Preference will be given to candidates who are legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application, specifically Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Candidates must also satisfy the required government security screening. Applications must be submitted by the closing date to be considered.
Why Join EDC

Employees also have access to training, workshops, language learning, wellness resources, mental health support, fitness programs, inclusive employment practices, and volunteer opportunities.
