Role Overview

The Landscaping Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and safety of the property grounds. Responsibilities include upkeep and enhancement of lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and fountains to ensure a visually pleasing environment consistent with The Ritz-Carlton's renowned standards. This role requires manual labor outdoors with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain property grounds to uphold an attractive and neat appearance.
• Clean, repair, or replace fountains, planters, and other landscaping features.
• Plant flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs; manage transplant and replacement activities.
• Water, weed, trim, prune and maintain flower beds, hanging baskets, boxes, trees, and shrubs.
• Mow, edge, rake, and otherwise maintain lawns including hard-to-reach areas.
• Install, operate, and maintain irrigation systems to support plant health.
• Remove and properly bag garbage from all exterior receptacles.
• Operate various vehicles and equipment such as dump trucks, tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles for transporting supplies and debris.
• Clean, wash, refuel, and maintain equipment following use.
• Adhere strictly to company safety and security policies; report any defects, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and safeguard company property.
• Support teamwork to achieve collective goals and maintain service quality standards.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking or standing for long shifts, working on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and other manual duties as needed.
• Address seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal and ice management, if applicable.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• At least one year of relevant landscaping or grounds maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is mandatory.
• No supervisory experience required.
