Role Overview
CLS (Complete Laboratory Solutions) is expanding rapidly and is seeking dependable team members who take a practical, problem-solving approach and are comfortable adapting to changing needs. Established in 1994, CLS is Ireland’s most accredited contract laboratory, delivering specialist sampling and analysis through fully trained microbiology and analytical staff to customers in the food, environmental, medical device, biopharmaceutical, and pharmaceutical industries.
The company also provides tailored managed service solutions, allowing clients to either host CLS specialists at their own site or outsource the work to CLS facilities.
Core Duties
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Microbiology Lab Supervisor while following company safety rules and cGMP requirements.
- Help maintain the laboratory quality system so it remains compliant with GMP and ISO 17025.
- Follow good documentation practices in all work.
- Prepare culture media and related materials.
- Monitor and replenish media stock as needed.
- Sterilise equipment, instruments, glassware, and diluents.
- Complete daily checks and calibration of the balance and pH meter.
- Support stock control activities in the microbiology laboratory.
- Keep quality control records for media preparation up to date.
- Wash glassware and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
- Handle waste management responsibilities.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in the microbiology lab.
- Take part in audits, self-inspections, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Use personal protective equipment supplied by CLS as required.
- Work safely and responsibly in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 to protect yourself and others.
- Enter data into the LIMS system and support data trending.
- Carry out other duties as requested by the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor.
- Assist with the Lean Laboratory programme within the microbiology laboratory.
