Descrição da vaga

About the Role

Hubbard House, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Education Specialist to join their professional team. This role focuses on community education initiatives, particularly in two key areas: engaging men and boys as allies in preventing violence against women and girls, and addressing the co-occurrence of domestic violence and substance use. The specialist will facilitate curriculum, foster collaborations with internal and external partners, and represent the organization at community events. This is an in-person position requiring strong communication, organizational, and ethical standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent is essential.

Principal Duties

  • Lead the "Not My City" education program, encouraging male allyship in preventing violence against women and girls.
  • Collaborate with the Community Education department to identify program facilitation opportunities.
  • Deliver educational sessions for the program and actively participate in Project Team and Coordinated Community Response (CCR) Team meetings.
  • Recruit community partners for educational engagements and the CCR.
  • Develop and create print and multimedia resources for the program.
  • Attend community events to disseminate information and raise awareness about the program.
  • Contribute content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure adherence to standards and project deliverables.
  • Facilitate educational programming focused on the intersection of domestic violence and substance/opioid use.
  • Train professionals in behavioral health, drug treatment, healthcare, and related fields on prevention strategies.
  • Conduct educational sessions to improve community understanding of the issue and prevention methods.
  • Represent Hubbard House professionally in all community interactions.
  • Participate in required trainings as directed by the Office of Violence Against Women, City of Jacksonville, and Hubbard House.
  • Ensure program accessibility for individuals with disabilities, including those who are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing or require translation/interpretation services.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in education, training, social work, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered. Two years of experience in facilitating community-based training sessions is desirable. Experience with sexual assault or domestic violence programs is advantageous. Fluency in English (speaking and writing) is required; bilingual skills are a plus. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory, along with continuous vehicle insurance that meets Hubbard House's requirements. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background screening, including a Level-2 check (criminal history, DCF, FDLE, National Sex Offender Registry), a motor vehicle report, and drug, alcohol, and TB screenings. Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. via E-Verify is necessary.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hubbard House, Inc. adheres to all federal, state, and local employment laws. Please refrain from making phone calls.
