Role overview

Future Women (FW) is at the first year of its data enablement journey, focused on bringing business data together and developing a modern platform on Snowflake. This Data Analyst role is central to the data function and will work side by side with the Tech Lead and Data Engineers to speed up delivery and help reshape how the organisation uses data. The position blends stakeholder coordination with practical data work, ideal for someone who takes ownership, turns business questions into clear data outputs, and enjoys the pace and visibility of a startup-style environment.

Reporting to: Tech Lead, Data Engineering

Location: Remote-first across Australia/New Zealand

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the Tech Lead and data engineering team to help deliver the data roadmap.
  • Act as the main contact for incoming data requests from the wider business, handling stakeholder communication and converting business needs into clear requirements for engineering.
  • Gather requirements for operational reporting work and check outputs with stakeholders, working alongside the reporting team responsible for building and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
  • Support data governance across the platform by helping set and apply standards for data quality, testing, documentation, and access controls, in collaboration with the Tech Lead.
  • Spot opportunities to automate work, including pipeline testing and validation, to reduce manual effort, detect issues earlier, and improve reliability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or data product management role, with demonstrated ownership of requirements gathering and delivery execution.
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders and convert vague business needs into practical technical briefs.
  • Working understanding of data warehouse concepts and Medallion architecture.
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying, profiling, and validating data independently; exposure to modern data stack tools such as Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, and Power BI is expected, with Python and Git considered an advantage.
  • Comfort working in a fast-changing environment where priorities shift quickly and pace is important.
  • Experience helping establish or improve data governance practices, including documentation standards, data quality, and access management.
  • Open to using AI tools and curious about how they can improve data work and delivery processes.
