Role Overview
This position focuses on product teardown and should-cost analysis for automotive and energy equipment, along with costing for tools, dies, and molds. The role supports cost optimization across design, sourcing, and supplier interfaces while contributing to early-stage product development decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out teardown studies and build should-cost estimates for automotive and energy equipment, as well as tooling, dies, and mold-related items.
- Facilitate VAVE sessions to uncover practical opportunities for cost reduction.
- Work closely with design, sourcing, and supplier teams to improve product economics.
- Assist new product development teams by preparing cost estimates at an early stage.
- Review supplier quotations and manufacturing methods to validate and benchmark costs.
- Support supply chain initiatives aimed at reducing cost and increasing localization.
Required Background
- B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- 3 to 8 years of experience in cost engineering.
- Preferred exposure to automotive, medical, or energy-related domains.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and manufacturing workflows.
- Hands-on experience in costing mechanical parts and assemblies across stamping, injection molding, die casting, forging, machining, and secondary finishing processes.
- Experience with VAVE practices, cost modeling tools, and supplier negotiation support.
- Familiarity with COTS platforms such as Siemens TcPCM, aPriori, and SEER.

This is a full-time onsite opportunity based in Bengaluru East, Karnataka, India.
