Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Cake Decorator based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The role focuses on decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods according to customer requests, chosen themes, and seasonal ideas. You will also be responsible for preparing and tinting icing, creating piped designs, working with fondant and other decorative elements, and ensuring every finished item meets high standards of quality and appearance.
Key Duties
The position requires close coordination with the baking team to organize orders and manage decorating schedules so that deadlines are met. You will also be expected to keep the workstation clean and compliant with food-safety practices. In addition, the role includes supporting display arrangements, clarifying basic customer requirements when needed, and tracking stock levels for decorating materials.
Qualifications
- Practical cake decoration ability, including frosting, piping, and basic fondant handling.
- A strong visual sense with an eye for color matching, layout, and fine details.
- Capability to interpret design requests, personalize decorations to customer preferences, and adjust based on feedback.
- Working knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, and safe handling of bakery items.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to juggle several orders within a busy schedule.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills for working with bakers and front-desk staff.
- Experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or café is an advantage, though not essential.
- Availability for flexible working hours, including weekends and busy festive periods, when required.
