Descrição da vaga
Overview
This opportunity is with Mindrift, a project-based platform that pairs subject matter experts with AI initiatives for well-known technology companies. The work focuses on evaluating, testing, and helping improve AI systems. It is not a permanent role; participation happens on a per-project basis.
Application Note
Applicants should share a CV in English and include their English proficiency level.
What You May Do
Projects vary, but typical work may include building original computational biology challenges that reflect real research-style workflows, writing Python-based problems that use libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and BioPython, and making sure the tasks are computationally heavy enough that they cannot be solved manually in a short time.
You may also be asked to develop multi-step reasoning tasks in bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling, ground the questions in real biological research or practical use cases, verify answers through Python and standard computational biology tools, and clearly document the problem statement along with the validated solution.
Ideal Background
This is best suited to biology professionals who also work comfortably with Python and are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. A degree in Biology or a related field is preferred. Equivalent programming experience in tools or languages such as MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or Stata may also be considered.
Applicants should bring at least 2 years of professional experience, which may come from applied, research, or teaching work. Experience with biological data analysis and algorithms, familiarity with bioinformatics tools and computational methods, and strong written English at C1 level or above are also expected.
How the Work Process Typically Looks
The usual flow is: apply, complete the required qualification step(s), join a project, carry out the tasks, and receive payment.
Time Commitment and Compensation
During active project phases, the expected workload is about 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and not a guaranteed number of hours. Pay can reach the equivalent of $35 per hour depending on the contributor’s skill level and pace. Compensation may differ from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and expertise required.
Important Conditions
This is a project-based contributor opportunity rather than ongoing employment. Availability and compensation can vary by project.
