Responsibilities

• Handle the bell logger with a strong focus on safety and care at all times.
• Carry out pre-shift checks each day to confirm the machine is safe to operate and can be moved to the harvesting area without issues.
• Operate the equipment skillfully while stacking logs at the landing point.
• Stay alert throughout the workday, coordinate hand, eye, and foot movements well, and respond to signals from coworkers.
• Fill in the daily production and mechanical downtime records and submit them to the Harvesting Supervisor.
• Sort and arrange timber products according to required specifications.
• Keep the landing/depot area clean and, where possible, avoid using forest roads unnecessarily.
• Do not operate in designated special management zones or drainage areas.
• Support the extraction of trees located near landing sites.

Eligibility and requirements

• Must hold a valid Class E driver’s licence.
• Should be able to work on their own with minimal supervision.
• Minimum education of a Junior High School certificate.
• Must be physically and mentally fit for the work.
• Needs good vision and depth perception.
• Should be reliable and able to follow directions closely.
• Must have strong coordination, multitasking ability, and sound judgment.
• Requires a valid NHIS card, Ghana Card, and SSNIT number.
• Fast learner who can quickly understand equipment use and field processes.
• Able to communicate well and work effectively in a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Capable of meeting the physical demands of field operations.
• Must show a strong commitment to workplace safety and standard procedures.
• Should be proactive, disciplined, and flexible in changing work settings.
• Prior exposure to forestry or heavy equipment operation is an added advantage.
• Interest in sustainable forestry and environmental care is preferred.
• Basic record-keeping and reporting ability is an added advantage.
