Assistant Merchandiser (Contractual)

Role Overview

Zara Home is looking for a contractual Assistant Merchandiser to support the development and execution of textile or hardgoods products. The position is based in Gurugram, Haryana, and involves close coordination with internal design and product teams as well as external manufacturing partners.

Product Development

You will work with design and product development stakeholders to shape new collections and bring fresh product ideas to life across textile or hardgoods categories.

Factory Evaluation and Capacity Planning

This role requires assessing factory capabilities, understanding manufacturing methods, and identifying suitable production partners. A key part of the job is improving production timelines and helping reduce lead times through better vendor and capacity decisions.

Sampling and Production Coordination

You will stay on top of supplier activity throughout the full order journey, from sampling and development through production and final delivery. This includes tracking vendor performance against quality expectations, timelines, and compliance needs.

Quality Assurance

The role involves following up closely on proto, PP, and TOP sample approvals to make sure quality standards are consistently met. You will also support issue resolution when quality concerns arise during production.

Pre-Production and Factory Visits

You will organize pre-production meetings with suppliers and factories to reinforce quality expectations and address potential production risks with factory quality teams and the India quality controller. Regular factory visits are also expected to review progress and carry out quality checks.
