Position Details

The role is for an Acquisition Manager in Grade DM-I within the Branch Banking department. This is a full-time position based at the branch in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and the post reports to the Branch Sales Manager - Branch Banking. The reporting-in field is listed as not applicable.

Role Objective

The main focus of this position is to bring in new liability customers from the open market, support conversion of existing borrowing customers into liability customers, grow relationships with current customers through suitable cross-selling, and help customers adopt alternate service channels such as ATMs and BCs.

Role Scope

The responsibility metrics for the post are branch-specific and include assigned targets, CASA book, TD book, segment-wise book size for categories such as NR, senior citizens and HNI, along with product-wise targets covering CA, SA and TD.

Key Responsibilities

Business

  • Deliver the assigned liability targets through open market sourcing and conversion of existing customers.
  • Identify suitable prospects for liability products through branch staff leads, personal leads, customer referrals and alternate channels.
  • Keep prospect records updated, meet selected prospects and continue managing the relationship after acquisition.
  • Work alongside the CRS-Unsecured Loans team in the field to improve conversion of borrowing customers into liability customers.
  • Promote relevant secured loan offerings and pass qualified leads to the appropriate loan officers.
  • Share market inputs and product feedback with the Sales Manager - Liabilities.

Customer Service

  • Engage with customers politely and professionally while delivering quick, accurate and helpful service.
  • Help lower dormancy and attrition through regular interaction and follow-up.
  • Handle customer questions related to accounts, FD/RD, remittances and third-party products.

Internal Processes

  • Support customers in completing account opening documentation and ensure KYC papers are received, checked and signed wherever mandatory.
  • Follow KYC rules and compliance requirements without exception.
  • Encourage and assist customers to use alternate channels, including ATMs and BCs, for cash withdrawal and related needs.

Learning and Performance

  • Keep product knowledge current across liabilities offerings and maintain a working understanding of other branch products.
  • Address liability-related queries raised by the CRS-Unsecured Loans team and help them with selling support.
  • Complete required training and mandatory learning within the prescribed timelines.
  • Ensure goal-setting, mid-year review and performance appraisal activities are completed on schedule.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree, preferably with a commerce or related academic background.
  • At least 3 years of experience, preferably in sales.
  • AMFI or IRDA certification is required.
  • Working knowledge of retail banking products.
  • Strong documentation ability and a disciplined approach to process compliance.
  • Fluent communication in the local language.
  • Polite customer handling, good time management, selling ability and cold-calling confidence.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate based on business needs and career opportunities.
  • Ability to plan, execute, manage relationships and stay customer-focused.

Internal Interactions

The role works closely with the branch team across unsecured loans and secured loans, the operations team, the regional product and marketing team, state HR and BC agents.
