Zonal Operations Lead - Supply Chain & Logistics

Role OverviewThis position is responsible for managing zonal supply chain and logistics operations, with a strong focus on dispatch planning, vendor coordination, cost control, and network efficiency. The role requires close coordination across plants, markets, and logistics stakeholders to keep movement aligned with business plans and market conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess month-wise disruptions caused by supply-side or market-side changes and adjust operational plans accordingly.Coordinate inbound and outbound movements based on the monthly plan to improve efficiency.Prepare dispatch strategies to maximize shipments from individual plants, especially for core markets within the zone.Ensure clinker movement is executed as planned.Collect market intelligence on competitor activity and use it to compare UltraTech’s distribution model with competing networks.Create and standardize processes across different locations within the zone.Plan inventory in coordination with the regional logistics head.Monitor movements across zones and track inter-zonal transfers.Review vendor performance jointly with plant logistics heads and regional logistics heads.Develop initiatives for vendor engagement and capability building.Plan for improved capacity utilization of strategic units.Evaluate freight quotations against national benchmarks, seasonal trends, and peer practices.Continuously gather market intelligence for all zonal units.Handle approvals related to freight and new godown network locations.Manage rate evaluation for handling operations.Bring consistency to cost metrics across locations.Identify opportunities to reduce zonal logistics costs.Analyze dump/RH performance using lead-wise and slab-wise data to assess network viability and profitability.Incorporate updates to safety requirements for inbound and outbound vehicles.Education RequirementA postgraduate degree in MBA with specialization in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management is required.Additional InformationThis role is for a full-time position based onsite in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, India.
