Role Overview
This position is responsible for planning, allocating, and making the best use of workforce resources so the organization can maintain the right staffing levels, build effective schedules, and match labor availability to operational demand. The role is focused on improving efficiency, productivity, and overall workforce performance.
Workforce Management Responsibilities
- Create and run workforce planning approaches that ensure teams with the right headcount and skill mix are available to support business needs.
- Lead scheduling activities so shifts are staffed appropriately while keeping labor spend under control.
- Set up, monitor, and report on workforce management KPIs to evaluate staffing effectiveness and operational performance.
- Review performance data to spot improvement opportunities and put corrective actions in place.
- Guide the workforce management team and support their learning, capability building, and development.
- Partner with IT to implement and improve workforce management systems and technology tools.
Strategy and Planning
- Support the creation and delivery of the division’s ABCs and OKRs while staying aligned with other function leaders.
- Take important decisions that shape both strategic and day-to-day direction for the division.
- Build plans for the relevant teams and contribute inputs that help the division meet its goals.
- Delegate tactical responsibilities to future leaders to strengthen succession readiness over time.
- Track the division’s OKRs and key measures, and take action when results need correction.
People Management
- Define performance goals, support team members, review direct reports, and provide regular feedback.
- Take part in identifying and hiring critical talent for the function.
- Give clear direction, organize priorities, assign responsibilities, and oversee workflow execution.
- Encourage team participation in improvement ideas, innovation efforts, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Budget Management
- Own the budgeting cycle and contribute to budget planning efforts.
- Use the function’s budget efficiently and report accurately on progress and challenges.
- Explore and recommend initiatives that can create positive financial outcomes for HungerStation.
- Manage reporting departments within budget while keeping leadership informed on progress and challenges.
- Design approaches that improve financial results and reduce financial as well as operational risks.
Governance and Resilience
- Work in line with all relevant policies, procedures, and operating processes to ensure consistency and control.
- Look for ways to improve processes and practices continuously to increase effectiveness.
- Help sustain a high-performance workplace and reinforce the company’s values.
Qualifications
This role requires 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline is mandatory, while a master’s degree in a relevant subject is preferred.
