Role overview

This full-time onsite role in Edmonton, Alberta is an interview-based hiring position focused on moving trailers between unload and load bays and around the yard. The job can also include manual package handling tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing parcels safely and efficiently.

What you'll do

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors and across the yard as needed.
• Handle packages manually when required, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, unloading, loading, and sorting.
• Use hand-to-surface handling methods for all parcel movement.
• Load and unload parcels onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor carts, and load gratings.
• Work on continuous repetitive handling tasks for shifts lasting about two to four hours.
• Sort packages by scanning items, reading labels and charts, checking numbers, and remembering routing information.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned and complete required testing, training, and recurring accreditations.
• Work varying shifts based on business requirements.

Requirements

You should have a high school diploma or an equivalent educational background, along with a valid driver’s license and a solid driving record. Previous experience as a package handler or in switching/CDL operations is preferred, with about six months of relevant experience considered an advantage. Candidates in Quebec must be fluent in both French and English. This role also requires the ability to operate in a Windows PC environment and meet mandatory training and testing thresholds.
