Role overview
Gülermak Renewables is looking for a Procurement Director to define and deliver the company’s procurement and supply chain direction. The position is central to enabling renewable energy projects to move forward successfully while also supporting broader growth ambitions.
In this senior leadership role, you will help ensure procurement practices meet high standards for governance, competitiveness, ethical conduct, and value generation. You will work across Project Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, and Legal to improve supplier performance, reduce supply chain exposure, and create strong commercial outcomes across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Create and implement procurement approaches that align with renewable energy developments, operational needs, and overall business expansion.
- Source, assess, and appoint strategic suppliers for major equipment, materials, and construction-related services, balancing quality, dependability, and commercial value.
- Take the lead in supplier and contractor negotiations, including EPC partners and service providers, to lock in effective commercial terms and improve value.
- Develop durable supplier relationships and strengthen performance through structured governance, audits, risk reviews, and ongoing improvement work.
- Make sure equipment and services are bought on time so project timelines and budgets remain on track.
- Track market shifts, supply chain conditions, and emerging threats, then put mitigation plans in place to safeguard delivery and business results.
- Maintain compliance with procurement standards, contractual commitments, regulatory obligations, and ESG expectations.
- Report regularly to the Board and senior leaders on procurement outcomes, risk controls, governance, and value achieved.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a strong procurement team while building a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to support delivery of projects and strategic priorities.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings more than 15 years of progressive procurement experience, with substantial exposure to renewable energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, or similarly large capital-intensive sectors.
You should have a proven background in strategic sourcing and category management, including procurement of items such as solar modules, wind turbines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical infrastructure, and EPC services.
Strong commercial judgement and contract negotiation capability are essential, along with experience closing complex, high-value agreements that generate clear savings and business impact.
Experience managing both suppliers and stakeholders at scale is important, particularly when building strategic partnerships with global suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
You will need a solid understanding of project procurement and supply chain management, including tendering, contract administration, logistics, procurement governance, and risk management in major project settings.
Analytical strength is also required, including the ability to manage budgets, forecast effectively, assess total cost of ownership, and reduce supply chain risk.
We are also seeking a leader with a track record of building high-performing teams, improving operational standards, and supporting growth in fast-moving environments.
To succeed at board level, you will need the credibility and leadership presence to discuss procurement strategy, governance, risk, and performance with senior executives and directors.
