About the Company

The company delivers subscription-based and ad-supported listening experiences that work in the car, at home, and on connected devices, with the aim of connecting people to the voices, stories, and music they enjoy wherever they are.
The company has established a modern technology center in Dublin, Ireland. This site is an important part of SiriusXM’s ongoing digital transformation and serves as a center of excellence for the global Product and Technology organization.
The Dublin team includes specialists in software development, automotive technology and engineering, adtech, data science, and analytics. The group is responsible for building and supporting scalable, high-quality software for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio platforms.
Role Overview
The Principal Technical Program Manager will drive major cross-functional initiatives within SiriusXM’s digital listening products, with a key emphasis on the Experience Engineering organization. The role covers Playback Services, Content Services, and customer-facing teams across mobile, 10-foot, web, and speaker experiences, ensuring alignment between service and application layers to create a seamless user journey.
This is a senior individual contributor role that blends technical program management, leadership of major programs, and direct ownership of critical workstreams. The position shapes how complex initiatives are planned, sequenced, communicated, and delivered, while partnering with product and engineering leaders to manage dependencies, highlight risks early, and guide decisions from discovery through launch.
The role suits someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, connect platform-level work with client-side execution, and influence outcomes across many teams without formal authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery of large, organization-wide initiatives that require substantial technical implementation, involve several engineering and product domains, and create business value through coordination of dependent technical and product components.
- Establish the program structure, working cadence, and execution approach for initiatives that include multiple teams, dependencies, and stakeholders.
- Develop strong partnerships with engineering, product, design, TPM, and business leaders to align scope, sequencing, and execution.
- Maintain clear communication and help drive decisions across cross-functional stakeholders, escalating issues at the right time and to the right level.
- Create and manage integrated plans, milestones, and dependency maps that connect technical delivery to product and launch goals.
- Lead risk management by facilitating tactical cross-functional problem solving, then elevating key issues to leadership when broader decisions are needed to trigger mitigation plans.
- Provide executive-ready communication on program status, risks, trade-offs, and delivery confidence.
- Run large forums with cross-functional technical leads to ensure clarity on strategic, tactical, and process changes and keep alignment strong in a fast-moving environment.
- Improve execution frameworks, governance, and operating models to increase predictability and transparency across the organization.
- Work closely with engineering teams to clarify priorities, manage backlog health, and maintain schedules.
- Encourage a team culture focused on proactively pursuing innovative solutions.
- Form feature-specific engineering teams when needed to ensure high-priority work gets completed.
- Coordinate release readiness and launch execution across teams, including dependencies, operational readiness, and go-live criteria.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 10 years of experience leading complex technical programs across multiple teams and organizations.
- Background in delivering backend services and consumer-facing applications, ideally across mobile, 10-foot or connected TV, web, and voice or speaker platforms.
- Strong technical understanding, with the ability to contribute credibly to architecture, sequencing, and dependency discussions.
- Proven ability to lead high-visibility programs in ambiguous situations and influence senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Experience building operating cadences, governance structures, and execution frameworks at scale.
- Excellent communication skills, including executive storytelling, risk assessment, and decision support.
- Ability to function as a senior individual contributor who leads through influence, structure, and relationships.
- Exposure to Agile and other software delivery methods.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment focused on large-scale technical delivery.
