Overview
Abri Group is hiring a Handyperson to join its trades team in Eastleigh, England. This role focuses on everyday property maintenance and small adaptations that help residents remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes across Sheltered, Independent, and Partnership Living schemes.
The position is hands-on and varied, with work ranging from small repairs to minor installations that improve daily living for customers. You will represent Abri in residents’ homes, maintain high standards, and provide a reliable, friendly service that puts customers first.
What you will do
- Complete a broad mix of general maintenance tasks across residential properties.
- Carry out small jobs such as hanging mirrors and shelves, fitting toilet seats, and installing handrails.
- Support aids and adaptations work by completing minor installations that help customers live more independently.
- Keep residents informed about the progress of their jobs and deliver courteous customer service.
- Work safely, efficiently, and as part of a supportive team.
- Use a tablet or PDA to track work, update job information, and maintain records.
- Travel across Horndean, Petersfield, Alton, and Southampton to attend customer homes.
What we are looking for
We are seeking someone who is practical, approachable, proactive, and committed to doing quality work. The ideal candidate will have experience in domestic maintenance or housing repairs, be comfortable with manual tasks, and be confident using hand tools and basic equipment. A willingness to learn new skills is important.
You should also be comfortable working with simple digital systems, have a positive can-do attitude, and take pride in helping people feel safe and supported in their homes. A full driving licence is required.
