Facility Cleaner

Role overview

BioPharma Services Inc. is hiring a Facility Cleaner for its onsite North York location in Toronto, Ontario. This full-time position is focused on keeping the building clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day and across scheduled shifts. The role requires prompt reporting of any issues to a supervisor and consistent attention to cleanliness across indoor and outdoor areas.

The salary offered for this role is between $40,000 and $42,500 per year.

Key duties

• Carry out cleaning work with care for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Check the facility regularly to make sure all areas remain clean, including outdoor spaces.
• Clean washrooms and related areas such as showers, toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty and remove garbage from rooms throughout the building.
• Sweep and mop floors across the entire facility, including stairways.
• Dust and polish surfaces on a regular basis.
• Vacuum carpets routinely.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, walls, and countertops.
• Clean the lunchroom every day.
• Handle seasonal snow and ice removal when needed.
• Make beds in clinic dormitories and manage linen collection.
• Support clinic setup activities.
• Receive, prepare, serve, and monitor meals when required.
• Keep records accurate, complete, readable, and submitted on time.
• Take on additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Escalate issues and concerns to a supervisor right away; if urgent help is needed and the supervisor is unavailable, contact another available supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 1 to 3 years of prior experience in a similar cleaning or facility support role.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to organize work and prioritize assigned duties.
• Comfort working on multiple tasks at the same time.

Shift schedule

This role includes flexible scheduling across mornings (6:00am-2:00pm), afternoons (14:00-22:00), nights (22:00-6:00), and weekends.
