Role overview
This position is with Cisco’s Customer Experience organization, a specialist technical team focused on creating excellent customer outcomes. The consulting engineering function works with large enterprises to plan, deploy, and fine-tune modern networks using Cisco SD-Access, SD-WAN, and Routing & Switching technologies, with the aim of turning technical work into measurable business results.

What you will do
- Work with senior engineers and customers on delivery of Cisco SD-Access, SD-WAN, and Routing & Switching solutions.
- Join customer discussions to understand requirements and translate desired business outcomes into project scope.
- Assist with deployment, setup, and migration activities, including participation during change windows.
- Create and use lab environments to troubleshoot issues, confirm solution behavior, and maintain quality expectations.
- Help prepare project deliverables, migration approaches, and customer-facing documents, while using AI tools for planning, analysis, and storytelling and checking the results carefully.
- Contribute reusable assets such as templates, lessons learned, and internal knowledge-sharing material to strengthen the team’s collective expertise.
- Build ownership of customer relationships while growing technical depth across Cisco’s enterprise portfolio.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 2+ years of relevant networking experience; an equivalent mix of education and experience is acceptable up to 3 years.
- Active CCNA certification.
- Practical experience with Cisco Routing & Switching platforms, including Catalyst switches, ISR/ASR routers, and IOS-XE.
- Working knowledge of core LAN/WAN networking and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Experience troubleshooting production networks.
- Exposure to at least one of these: Cisco SD-Access or Cisco SD-WAN/Meraki.
Preferred strengths
- Progress toward CCNP Enterprise certification.
- Basic scripting and automation capability, ideally with Python, Ansible, or REST APIs.
- Comfort using AI-assisted productivity tools and verifying any outputs before use.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas in simple terms.
- A collaborative, customer-focused mindset and openness to learning from feedback.
