Construction Director

About the Role

Parsons is seeking a highly capable Construction Director to lead site delivery for the Diriyah Boulevard & Public Realm Project in Riyadh. This flagship assignment is part of Diriyah Gate Phase 2 and covers parks, open spaces, public realm areas, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape works. The goal is to shape a lively, inclusive place that improves day-to-day living, access, and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all construction operations for the Diriyah Boulevard & Public Realm Project.
• Set the overall direction for site construction teams and supervision personnel.
• Make sure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality benchmarks.
• Work closely with the client, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and execution issues.
• Evaluate and sign off on construction plans, method statements, and work schedules.
• Track progress, spot risks or delays early, and apply corrective measures when needed.
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Manage contract administration alongside commercial and contracts teams.
• Compile and present regular progress updates, dashboards, and performance metrics to leadership and the client.
• Assist with change control, claim prevention/mitigation, and dispute handling.
• Guide and coach team members while encouraging a cooperative, high-performance culture.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 15–20 years of construction management experience, including 5–7 years in a senior leadership capacity such as Construction Director or Project Director.
• Background in delivering major infrastructure, public realm, urban development, or mixed-use projects, ideally within the Middle East.
• Experience handling complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and substantial streetscape, landscaping, and public realm elements.
• Demonstrated success in leading contractors, consultants, and cross-functional site teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and industry best practices.
• Solid understanding of contract frameworks such as FIDIC and their commercial impact.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Strong commitment to HSE compliance and QA/QC standards.
