Store Operation Manager

Role overview

This opportunity is for experienced retail store management and operations professionals who want to contribute to AI research on a flexible contract basis. Rather than a conventional full-time position, the work involves applying practical store operations knowledge to review AI-generated outputs and help improve how AI understands retail retail-management workflows.

The assignment is project-based and can be completed alongside other commitments. No background in AI is required.

What the work involves

You will use your day-to-day retail operations expertise to help build expert training data and assess whether AI responses are accurate, useful, and relevant. The role is fully remote and designed for asynchronous collaboration.

There is no fixed minimum time commitment. Contributors typically spend around 5 to 20 hours per week when a project is active. Selection is based on current project demand, and you may also be considered for future projects as opportunities open up.

Required background

Candidates should bring at least 5 years of professional experience in retail store management or a closely related retail operations role. Suitable experience includes Store Manager, District Manager, Retail Operations Manager, or an equivalent position in the retail sector.

Hands-on familiarity with store management processes is important, especially around performance reporting and reconciling cash and inventory. Strong written communication, a careful eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment are also essential.
