Overview

This is a contract software development role based remotely for a New Zealand assignment. The engagement offers hourly compensation and a flexible weekly commitment ranging from 10 to 40 hours.

Compensation and Commitment

Pay is set at $66 to $129 per hour. The expected workload is between 10 and 40 hours each week.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and improve scalable backend and full-stack applications using modern languages and frameworks.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to ship software that aligns with changing business needs.
Produce code that is clear, efficient, and properly documented, following sound engineering standards.
Investigate issues, fix defects, and tune existing systems so they run more reliably and perform better.
Take part in peer code reviews, technical conversations, and architecture planning sessions.
Support the complete development lifecycle, including planning, design, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

Solid professional experience in software development with one or more of the following: Python, Rust, Go, Java, Node.js, Android, iOS, or full-stack development.
Proven ability to create software that is scalable, dependable, and easy to maintain.
Prior experience working in remote, collaborative, and agile settings is necessary.
Good command of modern development tooling, source control workflows, and CI/CD practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability with careful attention to detail.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a professional approach to collaboration.
