Role overview
This position is for a proactive, people-centred People & Development Manager supporting a high-profile NatWest account across BaxterStorey and Portico. Based nationwide with regular travel across the UK, the role works closely with the Account Director, operational leaders, HR Business Partner and the central Learning & Development function to build a unified culture of hospitality, leadership and growth.
The role is focused on helping managers create strong teams, improve colleague engagement and build development pathways that enable people to grow, progress and perform at their best.
Compensation and package
The salary is up to £60,000, with the full package including travel details to be discussed during the hiring process.

What you will do
You will take ownership of colleague development, leadership capability and engagement across the contract. The role includes assessing development needs, embedding learning and people initiatives, coaching managers and supporting talent and succession activity.
Culture and hospitality excellence
- Build a connected Hospitality 360 culture across BaxterStorey and Portico by embedding initiatives that improve the employee and guest experience.
- Work with operational leaders and NatWest stakeholders to ensure shared values, behaviours and people priorities are reflected in everyday working practices.
- Promote engagement, inclusion and belonging, using insights to shape action plans and continuous improvement.
Leadership and capability development
- Partner with Learning & Development to deliver initiatives aligned to business, client and brand priorities.
- Spot capability gaps, support development plans and coach managers in leadership, communication and people management.
- Encourage ongoing learning through coaching, mentoring, peer learning and modern learning methods.
- Coordinate and assess learning activity so it contributes to better performance and stronger customer experience.
Talent and performance
- Support effective performance and development conversations.
- Assist with talent identification, succession planning and internal progression across the contract.
- Create initiatives that strengthen retention, engagement and career development.
Team member experience
- Support onboarding and induction in partnership with operational leaders and Learning & Development.
- Improve the colleague journey through clearer communication, recognition, feedback and engagement actions.
HR partnership and leadership support
- Collaborate with operational leaders and HR Business Partners to maintain consistent people practices and help managers with policies and procedures.
- Track people trends, risks and opportunities, escalating issues when necessary and using data to guide decisions and change initiatives.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development or People Development, preferably in a multi-location operational setting. Strong coaching, facilitation, mentoring, communication and stakeholder management skills are important, along with experience supporting leadership development, employee engagement, culture change, talent or succession programmes. The role also requires the ability to analyse people data, identify development opportunities and manage projects effectively.
Experience in hospitality, service or customer experience environments is desirable, as is a coaching, CIPD or equivalent Learning & Development qualification. Experience in a multi-location operation would also be an advantage.
