Role overview
The Material Planner is responsible for making sure material availability aligns with production plans and minimum stock requirements so manufacturing operations can run without interruption. The role also involves tracking materials and finished goods through production forecasts and related information, while ensuring inventory moves efficiently through the business.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and monitor material supply so it matches production schedules and supports a steady production flow.
- Create purchase requisitions based on demand forecasts to help meet customer requirements.
- Review demand patterns and supply trends to build and maintain inventory plans that keep stock levels optimal.
- Carry out stock verification checks to confirm inventory accuracy against agreed targets.
- Track material movement to spot delays or risks early, then adjust plans, schedules, or cancellations where needed to address inventory concerns.
- Use SAP planning tools to support demand generation and keep planning data and workflows accurate.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to communicate updates on materials, engineering changes, quality matters, production plans, and timelines.
- Prepare regular statistical and performance reports for stakeholders and recommend improvements to efficiency and results.
- Apply approved processes to agreed standards and targets, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in material planning and scheduling across multiple projects, with a demonstrated history of delivering results. Hands-on experience with SAP is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, engineering, or supply chain management is expected.
A preferred profile includes 4 or more years of industry and regional experience in planning and scheduling multiple projects. English proficiency is required for all roles unless stated otherwise, given the organisation’s international working environment.
