Material Handler

Role Overview

Vertiv is looking for a Material Handler to support smooth production activity at its Burnfoot facility in County Donegal. The position suits someone who enjoys practical, fast-moving work and takes pride in helping manufacturing run safely, accurately, and efficiently.

In this role, you will help production teams by making sure materials are received, stored, tracked, and delivered correctly so operational needs are met without delay.

Core Duties

• Track active production plans in IFS and coordinate the inspection, movement, and delivery of materials from stores to production teams.
• Identify shortages or damage, raise non-conformance reports when needed, and work with quality and engineering teams to close issues quickly.
• Keep materials properly stored, clearly labelled, and well organised, and ensure anything leaving an area is booked to the correct project.
• Follow up on missing or pending materials and keep the Team Leader informed of progress.
• Help maintain a tidy, safe, and orderly work area at all times.
• Support the timely flow of materials between stores, production, fabrication, and assembly areas.
• Offer support to newer team members and highlight any training gaps that should be addressed.
• Follow VOS principles and contribute to ongoing improvement activities.
• Comply with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety rules, risk assessments, and COSHH controls.

Inventory and Stock Control

• Carry out physical stock counts in assigned areas to verify record accuracy.
• Compare actual stock against system data, investigate variances, and reconcile any differences.
• Keep inventory records accurate by resolving mismatches and updating warehouse systems.
• Help replenish stock by moving, arranging, and preparing materials to support production availability.
• Use barcode scanners, ERP tools, and warehouse management systems to monitor and record material movement.

Experience and Skills Required

Applicants must have experience in either a manufacturing or warehouse setting, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting and recording information. Basic maths and IT ability is needed for data entry and reconciliation work, and clear verbal and written communication is essential.

You should also have knowledge of workshop equipment, methods, and procedures, and a clean disciplinary record is required for consideration.

Desirable Experience

It would be an advantage to understand moulding systems and production environments. Previous use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts or similar machinery is also desirable.

Working Conditions

This position involves regular walking and standing, plus some lifting, within a busy warehouse environment. Experience using forklifts or other material-handling machinery may be needed for moving and storing inventory.
