Tend Health Ltd is seeking a seasoned IT Manager to help strengthen the technology backbone behind healthcare delivery across Aotearoa. Based in Auckland, this permanent full-time role sits in a fast-growing, high-impact environment where technology is central to connecting digital care and in-clinic services. You will work closely with senior leadership and play a key part in supporting a major healthcare integration journey.

This position is hands-on rather than purely strategic. It is suited to someone who stays close to the technical detail, enjoys solving complex problems, and can simplify fragmented IT environments while improving reliability, security and scalability.

What you will be responsible for

• Taking ownership of the IT services that support clinics and support offices, including infrastructure, networks, telephony, servers and end-user devices.
• Managing technology areas that sit outside product and platform engineering.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and managed service providers.
• Overseeing cybersecurity, compliance and risk controls.
• Driving the consolidation and upgrade of multiple IT environments into a more modern setup.
• Supporting business growth and clinic acquisitions through dependable technology foundations.
• Leading and developing a small internal IT team.
• Ensuring staff across clinics and support functions experience stable, responsive technology.

What success looks like in the first year

• You will have developed a clear understanding of the current IT landscape and started a consolidation plan.
• Managed service provider performance will have improved, with lower dependency risks.
• The security uplift will be underway, with progress toward HISO and NCSC alignment.
• Technology services across the business will be more reliable and consistent.
• The technical base needed for smooth clinic integrations will be in place.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong technical depth and a practical, get-it-done mindset. You should be confident across infrastructure, cloud, identity, networking and security, and able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

• You bring substantial hands-on technical credibility.
• You have proven experience across infrastructure, cloud services, identity management, networking and security.
• You can manage vendors, contracts and commercial partnerships effectively.
• You have delivered technical projects and can move between planning and execution with ease.
• You communicate clearly and work collaboratively, keeping stakeholders informed without surprises.
• You take a continuous improvement approach and care about doing what is right for patients and colleagues.

Preferred experience

• Experience with Google Workspace and cloud-first SaaS environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure and Entra.
• Familiarity with SIEM, SAML, SCIM and MFA technologies.
• Background in multi-site infrastructure consolidation.
• Exposure to healthcare technology or managed services settings.
