HR Coordinator

Role overview

This contract HR Coordinator position is based onsite in Tampa, Florida. The focus of the role is on employee offboarding and separation administration, including processing terminations, handling retirement and contract-end workflows, updating HR data that affects final pay, preparing separation paperwork, and ensuring all steps meet legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and process voluntary and involuntary termination actions in Workday or other HR platforms.
• Coordinate retirement cases, assignment conclusions, and contract completion offboarding activities.
• Make sure all data updates that affect final pay are completed, working alongside Payroll and Time & Attendance teams when needed.
• Prepare and manage separation documents such as termination notices, severance materials, exit packets, and compliance-related forms.
• Track adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the separation process.

Qualifications

• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in HR operations.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.

Preferred skills

• Hands-on experience with HR systems, especially Workday.
• Working knowledge of payroll and timekeeping processes.
• Strong planning, coordination, and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with HR compliance requirements and employment regulations.

Pay and compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $35.08 to $35.08. Since this is a non-exempt role, overtime may apply at 1.5 times the base hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek, or as otherwise required by state or local law. Final compensation is based on relevant skills, education, and experience.
