EHS Assistant Manager

Role Overview

This position is responsible for leading Environment, Health, and Safety activities at a construction project site. The goal is to keep the workplace compliant with legal requirements, customer expectations, and internal standards while driving a strong safety-first culture and working toward zero harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, put into action, and continuously track site-specific EHS plans, procedures, and policies.
• Make sure all work follows relevant safety legislation, standards, and contract obligations.
• Carry out hazard identification and risk assessments for activities such as HIRA and JSA.
• Confirm that workers consistently use personal protective equipment and follow safe operating methods.
• Oversee high-risk operations including lifting, work at height, confined spaces, excavation, and similar tasks.
• Keep all required statutory registers, permits, and licenses current and properly maintained.
• Provide safety induction training to every new employee and worker joining the site.
• Run regular toolbox meetings, safety training sessions, and awareness drives.
• Record, investigate, and review accidents, incidents, and near-miss events.
• Determine root causes and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Maintain accurate incident documentation and share reports with management.
• Plan and conduct mock drills for fire, evacuation, and rescue scenarios.
• Ensure emergency response equipment is available and kept in working condition.
• Maintain EHS logs, reports, and supporting documentation for the site.
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
