Role overview
This opportunity is for a Developer Portal & Community Manager in Saudi Arabia, supporting a partner company that handles the application review and next steps. The role is central to how a technically advanced open-hardware product is documented, interpreted, and adopted by its worldwide developer community.
You will take full ownership of the Developer Portal, turning it into a dependable and well-organized reference point for engineers, contributors, and enthusiasts. The work involves close coordination with hardware and software teams to convert internal technical progress into public-facing documentation and useful community updates. It is a practical technical communication position that requires real product understanding, not just the ability to explain concepts. You will also serve as the link between engineering teams and the external community so that information and feedback move smoothly in both directions. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-paced, and built around openness and shared development.
Key accountabilities
- Take ownership of the Developer Portal and keep improving its structure, accuracy, and usefulness for external developers and contributors.
- Turn engineering conversations, product updates, and technical changes into documentation that is easy for the public to read and use.
- Manage wiki content, GitHub repositories, and other developer resources across several sub-projects.
- Join engineering discussions and team meetings to stay aligned with ongoing work and product direction.
- Review and moderate community contributions, issues, discussions, and pull requests to maintain constructive and high-quality collaboration.
- Gather community feedback, identify useful insights, and communicate them back to internal teams.
- Keep community communication organized, effective, and aligned with project objectives.
- Support developers in understanding the portal, contributing successfully, and engaging with the wider ecosystem.
Requirements
- Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create clear technical documentation, guides, or README-style content.
- Good grasp of software development workflows, including Git, branches, commits, and pull requests.
- Ability to simplify complex technical ideas into structured explanations, with diagrams or flowcharts when needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for drawing out key points from technical discussions.
- Comfort working directly with engineers and participating in technical discussions across both hardware and software areas.
- Ability to separate useful feedback from irrelevant noise and maintain attention on meaningful contributions.
- Well-developed organizational skills and a strong sense of structure, clarity, and information architecture.
- Strong interest in developer tools, hardware products, open-source ecosystems, and build-in-public development culture.
- Fluency in English and Russian for communication with teams and the community.
- Prior exposure to DevRel, technical writing, community management, or developer portals is considered an advantage.
