Agentic AI Developer

Role overview

QT Technologies Ireland Limited is hiring an Agentic AI Developer to work from Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The position sits within the Engineering Group, specifically Engineering Group > ASICS Engineering, and focuses on building autonomous AI systems that can plan, reason, interact with tools, and carry out tasks in production environments.

Core responsibilities

• Design agentic architectures that convert broad user objectives into structured, executable action steps.
• Integrate AI models with external applications, databases, and APIs so agents can retrieve information and take actions.
• Develop prompts, reasoning flows, and function-calling patterns that improve decision-making and tool selection.
• Build short-term and long-term memory mechanisms so agents can preserve context across conversations and workflows.
• Set up production monitoring, safety controls, exception handling, and human review steps for sensitive operations.

Required skills and qualifications

• Strong programming ability in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Practical experience with agent orchestration and chaining frameworks such as LangChain.
• Solid knowledge of large language models, including tokenization, embeddings, and API usage.
• Experience working with REST APIs, vector databases, and semantic search systems.
• Working understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for deployment and scaling.

Minimum qualifications

You should meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least 2 years of experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or similar work.
• Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least 1 year of experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or similar work.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
