A growing projects hub in India is supporting both domestic and international work.Role SummaryThis role is for an experienced operations engineer supporting bp India from Mumbai. The position provides operations and engineering support to offshore facilities through a technical service model. It plays a direct part in improving production and increasing hydrocarbon recovery from one of the world’s largest oil fields.The selected professional will be based in Mumbai and expected to work within a diverse, multi-skilled team.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and resolve operational issues in offshore process facilities, with a solid grasp of complex operating systems and related wellhead platforms.Carry out process surveillance, monitoring, and performance optimization for offshore oil and gas operations.Assess production losses, identify root causes, and put corrective actions in place to avoid repeat issues.Apply root-cause analysis methods to eliminate recurring failures.Contribute to integrated hub capacity reviews and identify debottlenecking and production improvement opportunities.Recommend enhancements and upgrades for the main complex and wellhead platforms to lift production.Provide facilities engineering input for major upgrade initiatives.Support equipment sizing and optimization for items such as control valves, orifice plates, separators, compressors, and gas dehydration systems.Advance digitalization efforts and build integrated models to uncover optimization opportunities.Help implement critical upgrades at the main process complex and wellhead platforms, including surface technology deployment.Promote knowledge sharing and ongoing improvement across teams.Identify growth projects and technologies that can support medium- and long-term production growth.Education and ExperienceA degree, or comparable experience, in an engineering discipline such as chemical, process, mechanical, rotating equipment, electrical, or instrumentation and control.At least 6 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry or a similar sector.Capability to work beyond a single engineering discipline and provide technical recommendations across multiple surface engineering areas.Strong ability to handle several priorities at once, adapt quickly to changing business needs, and make decisions based on value and risk.Excellent problem-solving ability with a practical approach to complex technical and operational challenges.Strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, Teams, and SharePoint.Strong written and spoken English skills, with the confidence to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization.Preferred ExperienceBackground supporting offshore processing complexes, especially in optimization, debottlenecking, and surface facility improvement.Experience with digitalization and integrated system modeling.Track record of delivering projects on offshore oil and gas processing assets.Exposure to well work and well interventions, including stimulation and fracking.Experience in international joint ventures and multicultural environments is an advantage.Strong influencing and communication skills for effective alignment across the organization.Additional InformationThis position is based in Mumbai.
