Role overview
The store in charge is accountable for the smooth day-to-day running of a garment store facility. This role focuses on keeping stock accurate, coordinating people and processes, and making sure the store remains tidy, secure, and efficient.
Key duties
- Track stock levels closely to avoid excess inventory or shortages, and carry out periodic physical counts and audit checks.
- Check incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents, and manage the movement of raw materials or finished items to the appropriate teams.
- Arrange materials so they are correctly stored, clearly labeled, and easy to locate when required.
- Supervise store staff, prepare schedules, support onboarding and training, and monitor performance.
- Maintain safety and security practices and ensure the store continues to meet required compliance standards.
- Keep the store clean, orderly, and in working condition, including basic upkeep of equipment and storage areas.
- Record all inward and outward stock movements in registers or inventory systems, whether manual or digital.
- Work with the purchasing team for procurement needs and coordinate with accounts for vendor bills and financial reconciliation.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants are generally expected to have 2 to 5 years of experience in retail operations, supply chain work, or inventory handling. A bachelor’s degree in Business, ITI, Diploma, or a related discipline is preferred.
Tools and working knowledge
The role requires comfort with inventory management systems, ERP/SAP environments, and bookkeeping tools such as Tally. Strong organization, sharp attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and physical stamina are important for success.
