Role overview
This position sits within Branch Banking and focuses on acquiring corporate salary account customers for a defined geography. The job combines direct customer engagement, product explanation and selling, and acting as the customer-bank interface to deliver strong service standards.
The role also supports the Sales Manager with catchment mapping, customer feedback collection, and identifying as well as converting potential business opportunities. A key part of the job is to bring in new customers, strengthen existing relationships, and improve lifetime value to help the bank meet broader business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Win new-to-bank corporate salary account customers within the targeted segment and generate references from the assigned catchment area.
- Build high-quality corporate salary accounts with the right constitution, segment fit, and product mix.
- Ensure accounts are registered, activated, and funded within three months of opening.
- Cross-sell and onboard relevant products at the time of account opening, such as mobile banking, net banking, and RD/FD activation.
- Consistently achieve and improve monthly new customer acquisition targets by understanding transaction banking requirements.
- Support the Sales Manager in catchment mapping and scoping activities.
- Share timely feedback with the Sales Manager on customer needs and business opportunities.
- Follow selling guidelines, account-opening procedures, and KYC requirements without deviation.
- Maintain strict compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Source customers in line with the bank’s quality standards and policy framework.
- Create a wish list of prospects through promotional efforts.
- Generate leads for family accounts and other cross-sell opportunities.
- Resolve customer queries quickly and proactively.
Requirements
- A graduate degree is required.
- Acceptable educational backgrounds include Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Commerce, Arts, Science, Biology, Business, Computer Studies, or Management.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Strong customer-facing and sales-oriented communication skills are needed.
- Awareness of KYC, account opening, and compliance processes is expected.
- Ability to work with targets, identify opportunities, and support relationship building is important.
