Job Summary
This role is for a seasoned Workday Functional Consultant who will contribute to Workday implementation and improvement initiatives. The position involves working with HR, Finance, business users, and technical specialists to understand needs, set up Workday functionality, validate solutions, and support the business after launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect business needs from stakeholders and translate them into functional requirements.
- Set up and support Workday modules including Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent & Performance, Absence Management, Payroll, Benefits, and Financial Management.
- Facilitate workshops and structured requirement discussions.
- Prepare detailed functional designs and related documentation.
- Configure business processes, security roles, dashboards, and reports.
- Assist with data migration, validation, and conversion activities.
- Support testing cycles, including system testing, UAT, and issue fixes.
- Handle post-production support and resolve Workday-related problems.
- Work with integration and technical teams on inbound and outbound interfaces.
- Create training resources and deliver user training sessions.
- Follow Workday best practices and governance expectations throughout delivery.
Required Skills
Strong functional knowledge of Workday modules, familiarity with Workday Business Process Framework, understanding of security design in Workday, experience with custom reporting and calculated fields, awareness of Workday release cycles and new features, stakeholder communication, business analysis, testing, and defect management.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR, Finance, or a similar discipline is preferred. The role requires at least 6 years of ERP/HCM consulting experience and 6+ years of practical Workday functional experience. Prior exposure to a complete Workday implementation is expected, and Workday certifications in one or more modules are an added advantage.
