Role Summary

Bayleaf Inn is looking for a full-time, on-site Steward to support hotel and restaurant operations. The role is centered on keeping kitchen, dining, and service areas clean, organized, and ready for service. The Steward works closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to help maintain hygiene standards and contribute to a smooth guest dining experience.

Key Duties

• Clean, wash, and properly store dishes, cutlery, glassware, and other utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, service counters, and work areas.
• Refill and arrange service items and other supplies as needed.
• Assist with simple food preparation tasks when required.
• Support the service team during peak hours to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety guidelines at all times.
• Work in coordination with kitchen and service staff to ensure a pleasant guest experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have good customer service and communication ability, along with a practical understanding of food and beverage service or restaurant/hotel workflows. A willingness to learn through training in hygiene, safety, and operating procedures is important. The role also requires strong attention to cleanliness and organization, the ability to remain on your feet for long periods, and comfort with physically active work such as lifting and carrying supplies. Experience in hospitality is an advantage, though not essential. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Work Conditions

This is a full-time, onsite position in Port Blair. The role may involve flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on operational needs.
