About the company
N71.ai is developing the memory and context layer for AI agents. The platform connects the AI tools already used inside a company through MCP and stores context in an underlying knowledge graph so that information can carry across systems and teams instead of restarting from scratch every time.
The company is an early-stage business based in Abu Dhabi, building for the Gulf region and international markets. The work is highly technical and centered on real engineering problems such as graph storage and retrieval, persistent context across agents, controlled access to sensitive information, and maintaining speed and reliability at scale. This position offers an opportunity to help shape the core of the product early in your career and grow quickly.
Role overview
This is an early engineering position reporting to the technical co-founder and working with a small, experienced team. From the start, you will be expected to build, deliver, and take ownership of meaningful parts of the product.
This is not a management role. The focus is on writing strong code, learning rapidly, and owning the work you contribute. It is a good match for someone at the beginning of their software career who wants to work on serious systems, collaborate closely with senior engineers, and accelerate their growth.
What you will do
- Develop product features across the memory and context platform, including the knowledge graph, retrieval layer, and MCP-based integrations.
- Write, validate, and release production-ready code together with the rest of the team.
- Troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and support overall reliability.
- Help build the mechanisms that allow agents to access sensitive data securely.
- Learn the technology stack quickly and take genuine ownership of the components you build.
What you bring
- Either 1 to 3 years of software engineering experience, or a strong portfolio of personal or open-source projects if you are earlier in your career.
- Good fundamentals in at least one backend programming language, along with comfort working with APIs and data stores.
- Strong motivation to learn, ship work, and own outcomes.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to ask thoughtful questions.
- Comfort working through ambiguity in a fast-paced early-stage startup environment.
Nice to have
- Exposure to knowledge graphs or graph databases.
- Experience working with LLMs, AI agents, or retrieval systems.
- Familiarity with MCP or similar integration frameworks.
- Interest in security, access control, or data governance.
