SAP ABAP CFIN Developer

Role overview

This position is for an SAP ABAP Central Finance developer who will create, improve, and maintain ABAP-driven enhancements and integrations for Central Finance environments. The work centers on real-time replication through SAP SLT, document movement, and reconciliation between source ERP systems and S/4HANA Central Finance. The role also covers interface development across IDoc, SOA/web services, RAP/CDS/OData, and RFC/BAPI technologies, with a strong focus on ABAP on HANA efficiency. In addition, the developer will configure AIF, implement Central Finance-specific BAdIs and mappings, and support initial loads, cost object and MDG mapping, CPAY and Treasury payment integrations, and day-to-day production support.

The position requires close coordination with Finance, MDG, Basis, and Integration teams to ensure accurate, traceable, and compliant financial data processing.

Required qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience in ABAP development, including object-oriented ABAP, Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, and RFC/BAPI development.
• Practical exposure to ABAP on HANA, including AMDP, code performance tuning, and ATC-based quality checks.
• Working knowledge of SAP SLT setup and monitoring tools such as LTRC, Mass Transfer IDs, replication object tracking, and IUUC_REPL_PREDEF_OBJECTS.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot IDoc processing using WE20, WE21, WE30, WE31, partner profiles, and error resolution tools like BD87 and WE02.
• Experience with SOA and web services using SOAMANAGER, SPROXY, WSDL, SOAP runtime monitoring, and Enterprise Services.
• Exposure to RAP, CDS, and OData development, including interface and projection views, BDEF, OData V4, and Fiori Elements integration.
• Technical familiarity with Central Finance topics such as AIF setup, the BAdI FINS_CFIN_DOC_TRANSFER, cost object and MDG mapping, and initial load activities.
• Knowledge of CPAY and Treasury integration scenarios, including payment interfaces, RFC connections, posting exits, and reconciliation programs.
• Sound understanding of FI/CO processes, posting logic, and reconciliation in finance systems.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, unit testing, and technical documentation abilities.
• Preferred background includes experience with S/4HANA CFIN programs, Agile/Scrum practices, Solution Manager/ChaRM, or SAP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and tune ABAP solutions, user exits, and interfaces that support Central Finance postings and reconciliation processes.
• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot SAP SLT replication using tools such as LTRC, MTIDs, and object monitoring.
• Create and support IDoc-based integrations, including partner profiles, ports, process codes, and exception handling.
• Build SOA/web service and RFC/BAPI integrations with SOAMANAGER, SPROXY, WSDL, and SOAP runtime monitoring.
• Deliver RAP/CDS/OData services, including CDS interface and projection views, BDEF objects, OData V4 services, and Fiori Elements integration.
• Use AIF for message handling, issue tracking, and monitoring of Central Finance document transfers.
• Implement and extend the FINS_CFIN_DOC_TRANSFER BAdI, carry out cost object and MDG mapping, and assist with initial load and cutover tasks.
• Configure and maintain CPAY and Treasury payment interfaces, RFC links, posting exits, and reconciliation routines.
• Apply ABAP on HANA best practices through AMDP and SQL optimization while meeting ATC and code quality requirements.
• Work closely with Finance, MDG, Basis, and Integration teams, while also handling production support, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.
