Role overview
As a Retail Shift Manager at Lidl GB in Paignton, you will be responsible for keeping store operations running smoothly during your shifts. The role suits someone who is dependable, well-organised, and comfortable working in a busy retail setting.
You will lead by example, support and encourage your colleagues, and take ownership of the shop floor when the Store Manager or Deputy Store Manager is not present. This is a 35-hour contract with varied shift patterns.
Pay and working pattern
The position offers £15.45 to £15.95 per hour. In addition, you will receive an extra £2.00 per hour for bank holiday work and £3.50 per hour for night shifts. The contract is for 35 hours per week, with shifts varying across the week.
Main duties
Your day-to-day work will involve guiding the team, solving issues quickly, assigning tasks effectively, and maintaining a positive environment where colleagues can perform well. You will also manage store processes such as freshness checks, cash handling, stock control, and inventory so that each shift operates efficiently and customers receive a strong shopping experience.
