Ramp Handler

Overview

FedEx is seeking a Ramp Handler to join its airside operations team in Essex, England. In this position, you will help move cargo safely and efficiently by loading and unloading aircraft and airside vehicles while following established procedures.

What the Role Involves

The job centers on handling freight around the ramp area, supporting smooth day-to-day airport cargo operations, and working closely with supervisors and colleagues. You will also be expected to use ground support equipment such as tugs, belts, and Hi-Loaders, so holding a valid driving licence is essential. Training will be provided on equipment and technology so you can work safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Working Pattern

This is a rotating shift role on a 2-week cycle. The position is 37.5 hours per week, spread across 5 days.

• Monday: 13:30 to 22:30, including an unpaid 60-minute break
• Tuesday to Thursday: 15:00 to 23:30, including an unpaid 60-minute break
• Friday: 14:45 to 23:00, including an unpaid 60-minute break
• Saturday: 15:00 to 02:00, including an unpaid 60-minute break

Pay and Additional Notes

The annual salary is £27,672.57, with an additional 30% shift premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.
