Role Overview

WSP is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Taupō team and support the delivery of civil infrastructure work for local clients. The position involves preparing service offers, clarifying project scope, and assisting with project management activities across the wider team. You will work alongside engineers and technical specialists to deliver strong outcomes, strengthen client partnerships, and help projects run successfully.

This opportunity is well suited to someone with experience in three waters or transportation engineering who wants to develop further in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects so deliverables align with client expectations and contractual needs.
• Develop project briefs, proposals, fee estimates, and scope plans.
• Track programmes, budgets, and financial results to support successful delivery.
• Coordinate project teams to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality level.
• Maintain effective client communication and provide a high standard of service.
• Handle project records, status reporting, invoicing, and change control activities.
• Identify project risks and ensure work follows WSP procedures and standards.
• Support business development through bid preparation and new opportunity identification.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to help projects progress smoothly.

About You

• You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a similar field.
• You have approximately 5+ years of experience in project management or a civil engineering role, with a focus on transportation or three waters engineering.
• You can take projects from early planning through to final delivery.
• You communicate clearly and can build strong client relationships.
• You stay organised, manage competing priorities, and work to deadlines.
• You work well in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
• You demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a strong sense of accountability.
• You have a full, clean driver’s licence.
