Role Overview

The Project Coordinator will support project administration, scheduling, reporting, coordination, documentation, and close-out activities. The role involves working closely with project managers, superintendents, accounting, customers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to help keep projects on track and aligned with contractual and technical requirements.

Key Duties

  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with owners, partners, consultants, subcontractors, and the public.
  • Review and understand the project contract.
  • Track and forecast scope changes and change orders.

  • Lead close-out activities, including document archiving, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiency tracking, warranty follow-up, and return of as-built drawings from subcontractors.
  • Review design work for alignment with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and specifications.
  • Participate in basic layout and field engineering tasks, including collection of as-built information.
  • Support estimating and project management activities when needed.
  • Prepare and maintain punch lists for outstanding work items.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Participate actively in quality assurance by applying policies and procedures correctly.
  • Draft and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
  • Carry out additional assigned duties.

Qualifications

Applicants should have post-secondary education in engineering or construction management, or a comparable mix of education and relevant experience. A background of 1 to 3 years as a Project Coordinator or in a similar position is preferred, ideally in project engineering or heavy construction; co-op experience may also be considered. Familiarity with construction-related software such as Primavera, AutoCAD, and SAP is expected, along with strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The role also requires mobility, a willingness to travel to project locations, and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
