Role overview

The Operations Manager is accountable for one functional area within a Fulfillment Center, such as Inbound, Outbound, or Change Ops. This role owns budgetary targets, people development, and operational outcomes for the assigned area.   • Plan ahead for workforce needs, forecast demand, evaluate performance, solve issues, and address staffing requirements.
  • Assess work projections and set productivity expectations needed to meet daily building targets.
  • Track BM rates and OP2 throughput commitments.
  • Work closely with other Operations Managers and take part in cross-functional initiatives by adopting proven practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and lead improvement efforts proactively.
  • Develop a strong understanding of system-based order-processing interventions and communicate new process controls to teams.
  • Lead ART events from a capacity-planning standpoint and prepare manpower, material, and machine requirements.
  • Review machine and resource planning regularly and help reduce capacity bottlenecks in coordination with Resource Planning and Finance teams.
  • Drive people-management best practices and remain accountable for Fulfillment Center compliance, Connections, and scorecard performance.
  • Support employee growth, team development, and leadership building.
  • Build familiarity with Flex levers, the technical aspects tied to the role, and Amazon ERP systems.
  • Develop future leaders and strengthen the talent pipeline.
  • Handle stakeholder management and project management responsibilities effectively.
  • Coordinate across functions and sites to adopt and scale best practices and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least 3 years of experience as an Amazon blue badge/FTE employee.
