Manager - Civil

Role Overview

The Civil Manager will be responsible for end-to-end execution of civil construction work at the CRM Complex, starting from sub-structure activities through to finishing. The role requires ensuring that all work is carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, schedule commitments, quality standards, and budget expectations.

Reporting & Team

This position reports to the Project Head and involves overseeing Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and Labour Contractors.

Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate should have 10 to 15 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in a civil managerial position. A B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required, while an M.Tech is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The manager will be expected to plan and oversee RCC, masonry, finishing, and external civil works. The role also includes preparing and tracking 3-week and 6-week look-ahead schedules, implementing the Quality Control Plan, and managing contractors to ensure steady progress, accurate RA billing, and strong workmanship. Responsibilities further include issuing material indents, monitoring material usage and wastage, deploying plant and machinery efficiently, enforcing HSE practices across all work areas, and submitting DPR, WPR, and MIS updates to the Project Head.

Core Competencies

This role calls for strong practical knowledge of RCC, post-tensioned slab systems, and formwork methods, along with working proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project. A solid understanding of IS codes, NBC, and QMS is important, as is the ability to manage multiple work fronts, negotiate effectively with contractors, certify bills, reconcile materials, and control costs.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by monthly achievement of planned quantities, prevention of civil milestone delays, strong first-time inspection pass rates, adherence to cement and steel consumption norms, zero accidents across civil work fronts, and timely submission of DPR reports every month.
