About the Role
TAQA Distribution is expanding its team and is seeking a Lead, Scheduling to join the Abu Dhabi office. This position plays a central part in project success by building, managing, and continuously improving project schedules that support organizational targets and stakeholder commitments. The role calls for close coordination with multiple teams, ongoing review of project progress, early identification of risks, and strong control over timelines and resources. It also includes setting scheduling standards, coaching team members, and applying advanced planning methods and tools throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and obtain approval for detailed project schedules that are aligned with project goals, delivery standards, and milestone targets.
- Guide and support the scheduling team by sharing effective practices, methods, and tools used in planning and scheduling.
- Own delay analysis and Extension of Time processes, ensuring the supporting records are thorough, clear, and suitable for contractual discussions.
- Work closely with senior project managers, contractors, internal teams, and outside stakeholders to address scheduling issues and keep critical deadlines aligned.
- Partner with risk management teams to spot schedule-related risks and implement mitigation plans that reduce the chance of project delays.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a similar field.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls.
- Strong command of schedule building, critical path method, float path analysis, delay analysis, and EoT documentation.
- Capability to lead stakeholder discussions, coordinate with contractors, and communicate scheduling issues effectively to senior leadership.
- Prior experience in power projects.
- Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
- Demonstrated success in management roles within complex assignments.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Understanding of Power BI.
- Excellent spoken and written communication abilities.
- International work experience, preferably in the UAE.
- PMP, PSP, or an equivalent professional certification.
Preferred Profile
- Exposure to utilities, infrastructure, and power-sector projects.
- A master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or an equivalent discipline.
- Additional certification or advanced training in project planning, scheduling, project controls, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
