About the Role
Sinmec is looking for an IT Security Engineer to help strengthen its information security environment in Chennai. The role is centered on monitoring threats, closing security gaps, and supporting compliance activities in an engineering services setting tied to oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep watch over security alerts and respond to suspicious activity.
- Spot weaknesses in the security setup and help address them.
- Handle vulnerability management activities and follow up on fixes.
- Assist with ISO 27001-related audits and documentation support.
- Oversee access governance to help ensure permissions are controlled properly.
- Prepare and maintain security reports for internal review.
- Track remediation progress until issues are resolved.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in the organization’s overall security posture.
Eligibility
Candidates should have a Diploma or a B.E./B.Tech degree in any specialization. Relevant backgrounds in IT or cybersecurity are preferred.
Experience
The position is intended for professionals with around 2 to 5 years of experience.
