Role Overview

This remote, full-time position is for an experienced Freight Broker who can identify freight opportunities, secure loads from shippers, and negotiate carrier pricing. The role covers the full lifecycle of load movement across North America, from first contact to final delivery. You will be expected to nurture relationships with carriers and customers, monitor shipments, address service disruptions, and help ensure pickups and deliveries happen on time. Close coordination with dispatch and operations teams, careful record-keeping in transportation management systems, and adherence to applicable compliance requirements are essential parts of the job. The position also calls for a proactive mindset, the ability to spot new business opportunities, and a consistent focus on service quality in a busy, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

Find freight opportunities and secure shipments from shippers.
Negotiate rates with carriers and work to protect healthy margins.
Manage loads from booking through delivery across North America.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with carriers and customers.
Track shipments and keep stakeholders updated on progress.
Resolve shipment delays, service concerns, and other operational issues.
Coordinate closely with dispatch and operations teams.
Keep records accurate and up to date in transportation management systems.
Follow all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to grow accounts and expand business.
Deliver responsive and reliable customer service throughout the shipment process.

Requirements

Strong experience in freight brokerage, including handling end-to-end freight transactions in a high-volume setting.
Background in customer service and account management with the ability to build lasting shipper and carrier relationships.
Experience with dispatch coordination, including scheduling pickups and deliveries and communicating with drivers and partners.
Ability to negotiate freight rates, read market conditions, and improve margins without compromising service.
At least 2–3 years of recent experience as a freight broker or in a similar 3PL role.
Familiarity with transportation management systems, load boards, and standard logistics software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with careful attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage several shipments at once.
Knowledge of North American trucking regulations, load types such as FTL and LTL, and carrier networks is an added advantage.
High school diploma or equivalent is required; further study in logistics, supply chain, or business is beneficial.
